Operators in this position will setup and operate CNC mill machines to perform machine functions such as boring, facing and threading of metallic work pieces such as casting, forgings and bar stock.
-Edit programs on CNC machines, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, basic geometry and basic trigonometry; proving part programs.
-Assists in setting-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting three –four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads.
-Verify machine setup by inspecting and verifying product characteristic are within tolerance per the part print specifications. This is done on the 1st piece and throughout the process run using the appropriate measuring device suitable for the required tolerance.
-Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
-Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
-Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
-high school diploma or GED.
-3 years of CNC experience.
-Visual acuity for detailed work.
-Must be able to lift and maneuver 35lbs.
-Must be able to stand throughout the entire shift.
1st shift: Mon-Fri (6:30a-5p) & Sat (6:30a-11:30a)
2nd shift: Mon-Fri (5:12p-5:12a) & Sat (5:12p-1:12a)
Starting between $12-22/hr based on experience.
